NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks Review

Hello Dollies.

Finally, all 12 shades of NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipsticks are now available here in the Philippines. I’ve been waiting for them to release all of their shades as they initially release only 5 colors from their range.

Moving on to my product review, NYX Lingerie was actually part of my previous post which is about liquid lipsticks review blog but since it was already available on the local market, I wanted to create a blog focusing on this product alone.

I grabbed 3 of the 12 shades which are Bedtime Flirt, Ruffle Trim and Exotic from SM Mall of Asia’s Department Store for P499 each.

As for the application, it has a mousse-like consistency and takes 2 swipes to have my entire lips covered. Similar to my first reaction on the previous post, it really takes a long time to be fully dry on me. Even after 30 minutes, I can still feel that the product is still a little bit wet which is an indication that it is not yet fully set on my lips (maybe it’s just me who had this impression). When the product is still wet, it is really sticky on the lips and when it dries, I noticed that it emphasizes cracks on my lips especially when I have dry lips.

Comparing to my Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipstick, NYX lingerie is more light and comfortable to wear. In terms of longevity of the product, it will last you long if you will do nothing such as eating and drinking which I do a lot so to make my story short, it doesn’t really last me that much, but well of course, this is better than some ordinary lipsticks. PS. I am still looking for the “long-wearing lipstick” that will really work on me.

Bedtime Flirt – mauve-pink tone – cool tone – my kind of nude lipsticks

Ruffle Trim – cinnamon/peachy- pink tone – not flattering on me

Exotic – warm mahogany red tone (not nude) – flattering on me. Not to strike-y red. Wearable for everyday use.

 

 

Another PS: If you are wondering why most of my reviews are about lip products, this is because naturally, I do have uneven lip color and wearing lipsticks or tints makes me feel more confident and put together. You always do what makes you feel good. 😉

I’ve been wanting to have a photoshoot with fairy lights…

And this day has come and gladly I have a very supportive partner to take me pictures.

And that’s the reason why I am sharing this experience…

This is a total challenge to us though coz’ we didn’t know that taking pictures with lights will take us a lot of time & effort.

It seems impossible at first and patience is really a must here.

This is just the beginning, we will definitely try it again and perfect it someday.

That’s a promise.

Matte Liquid Lipsticks Review

Welcome back to me!

On this blog, I’ll be reviewing 3 matte liquid lipsticks/lip creams from the brands Kylie Cosmetics, NYX and Colourpop.

Matte Liquid Lipsticks are very trendy and popular these days. They are known for being long lasting, “kissproof” or non-transferrable, waterproof and some says a little bit drying on the lips.

So here I am, trying the products for the first time and I’ll provide my honest review with these babies.

For starter, all of the colors I chose are nude as my Mama advised me before that always go for a nude lippie cause it always makes you pretty :). So lets move on to my review.

I did a waterproof test and surprisingly all are indeed waterproof!

I also tried to sleep with the swatches on my wrist and after I took a bath the next morning, there are still left residues on my wrist.

 

First is the Kylie Cosmetics in Candy K. 

I got mine as a gift from my boyfriend and he purchased it from a shop called makeupdepot in Shopee.ph for P1250.

I immediately tried it on my lips and my first impression was, “why the color is different on me?!”, but I am not complaining as the color is flattering my skin tone, it’s just that I am expecting this to be a little bit more brown as what I saw in the pictures.

I can say that this shade is in between brown and pink.

In terms of formula, it is so pigmented that one swipe is enough for your entire lips. It dries matte and not like the other liquid lipsticks, it doesn’t make me feel uncomfortable.

In terms of longevity, it does stay long (5-6hrs even if I eat a lot) and does not transfer as it claimed.

 

Second is the NYX Lingerie in Push Up

I bought it from a local store near my place for P430 but I am pretty sure that NYX Lingerie lip creams are now available in selected SM Stores here in the Philippines.

It is also pigmented but I got problem in applying the first layer as it dries so fast and it is little bit patchy and uneven on my lips at first (well maybe because I have a dry lips).

Among the 3 brands, this dries the fastest (less than 10 seconds) and it does not transfer as well after it dries. It also stays the longest on my lips based on my experience.

For the color, same with Kylie Cosmetics, I find it different on me. I don’t like this color on me but I will still recommend and buy this product someday. I’ll try Bedtime Flirt next time.

 

Third is the Colourpop in Beeper

I also got mine from the makeupdepot in Shopee for P400+.

It’s also pigmented and applies smooth and even on my lips but my only problem with this is it take a lot of time to dry completely (5 to 10 minutes), it tends to transfer everywhere during drying process.

Aside from that, I don’t have other issues with this brand. It’s affordable and the quality is good and not to mention that it also stays long on my lips (3-5 hours).

I believe Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks have similar shades with Kylie Cosmetics so if you are looking for an alternative Kylie Cosmetics’ lippies, definitely grab Colourpop instead.

Final verdict, if I need to choose one of the three, quality and price wise, I’ll surely choose the NYX Lingerie Lippies. It is the most long lasting among the 3 and it is more affordable than Kylie Cosmetics.

The least I like is the Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip Cream (I don’t hate it, ok?), as it takes a lot of time before it completely dries, and even if it is already dry, the lipstick still transfers which is not the expectation on matte liquid lipsticks nowadays.

So here you go.

Get The Look For Less: Kathryn Bernardo’s Outfit

Hello guys!

This blog is all about outfit style steal for less.

I’ll be featuring Kathryn Bernardo’s outfit from MEGA Magazine Special Edition 2014. Aside from Kathryn, the cover also includes Maja Salvador, Erich Gonzales, and Julia Barretto which featured them posing in scenic South Africa. 

I will be totally honest, I only saw this last month (August 2016) and I am surprised that this magazine was released way back September 2014. The first time I saw this, I already fell in love with Kathryn’s photos and this made me decide to copy the look from one of her featured outfits.

In the pictures below, Kathryn is wearing Vania Romoff’s nude off-shouder top and military green daped skirt which when I searched in google, the price range is from P8000 ($175) and above. You may check out other Vania Romoff’s designs from their online shop (www.vaniaromoff.com.ph).

Since I cannot afford those, I tried to hunt for similar top and skirt on our local store and gladly I found similar pieces (HOPEFULLY! :p).

 

I bought my off-shoulder top from Ruins, BF Parañaque for P150($3.5) then my High-Waisted Pencil skirt from Landmark for P350 ($7.5) . I already owned the belt from long time ago and I bought this one from SM Department Store for I guess around P250($5.5).

To be more wearable here in the Philippines, instead of wearing boots, I paired it with flat slip-on sandals which I also got from Landmark for P175($4).

Maybelline Creamy Brown Matte Review

Hi Guys.

My first ever blog will be my review for the Maybelline ColorSensational Creamy Brown Matte lipstick line.

Maybelline Philippines just recently released this nude color range on their Creamy Matte line. I believe it has 7 colors but unfortunately I only bought 5 of them since Nude Nuance and Divine Wine were already sold out in Landmark and SM Las Pinas.

These products are indeed creamy and easy to apply but I got problem applying Nude Embrace & Daringly Nude as these are a little bit patchy on my lips, probably because my lips are quite dry these days and these shades are too light in color. I have to apply 2-3 swipes to cover my entire lips smoothly. Clay Crush, Touch of Spice and Burgundy Blush on the other hand are very pigmented. One swipe and you’re good to go.

Each is P299 pesos but I got mine in promo for P199 each.

In terms of longevity, I’ve noticed that the darker the shade is, the longer it stays on my lips. But to be honest, I have problem on longevity of lipsticks on me because I always eat & drink haha.

Overall verdict, I am totally into these babies, I don’t feel my lips were dry while wearing one of these. And com’on, for the price and color you get, it’s very worth it.

My favorite shade: Touch of Spice
